Competition Manager and Referee may decide to change format that fits the best number of registered players and tournament schedule.
- All matches best of 5
- All CAN participants has to be active members of the Ontario Table Tennis Association or any other Canadian provincial TTA
- $5 administration fee if you withdraw before the registration deadline
- Seeding positions will be based on last available ITTF & Ontario Ranking List (ORL) before the tournament
- Referee has right to estimate player’s seedings
Open / Class A (Sunday & Monday)
This is a two-day event that combines a qualifying stage with a main draw.
- Sunday – Qualifications:
- 61 players are divided into 20 round-robin groups.
- The winner of each group advances to the next stage of qualifications.
- Qualification Round 1: The 20 group winners will play elimination matches. The 10 winners of these matches automatically qualify for the Main Draw on Monday.
- Qualification Round 2: The 10 losers from Qualification Round 1 will play another set of matches. The 5 winners of these matches will also qualify for the Main Draw.
- Total Qualifiers: 15 players will qualify from Sunday’s matches to join the main draw.
- Directly Invited Players:
- Nine players have been invited directly to the Main Draw on Monday. These include:
- Four players from outside Canada or our province: Podobnik Miha (SLO), Yangqin Yin (CHN), Lianrong Shen (CHN), and Gu Jun (CHN).
- Easton Gui, as a Canadian but from outside our province.
- Four top Ontario players: Ye Lin, Sunny Zhang, Max Ji, and Jessie Xu.
- If you finish 2nd , 3rd or 4th in RR:
- Division 2: All players who finish second in their round-robin group will be entered into a direct elimination draw for Division 2.
- Division 3: All players who finish third or fourth in their round-robin group will be entered into a direct elimination draw for Division 3.
- Number of Matches: Each player is guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches, with a maximum of 7. Most players will play between 4 and 5 matches.
Under 17 (Saturday)
- Saturday – Qualifications:
- 56 players are divided into 18 round-robin groups.
- Qualification for Main Draw (Monday):
- The 18 winners of the round-robin groups qualify directly.
- Players who finish second in their round-robin group will play in a Division 2 elimination draw. The four semi-finalists of this draw will also qualify for the main draw.
- Total Qualifiers: A total of 22 players will qualify for the main draw.
- Directly Invited Players:
- Two players are invited directly to the main draw: Sunny Zhang and Gui Easton.
- If you finish 3rd or 4th in RR:
- Players who finish third or fourth in their round-robin group will play in a direct elimination draw for Division 2.
- Number of Matches: Each player is guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches, with a maximum of 6. Most players will play between 4 and 5 matches.
Under 11 (Saturday)
- Saturday – Progressive KO:
- 20 players are distributed into 6 round-robin groups.
- Winners of the group will qualify for the Top 8 progressive knockout on Tuesday.
- Players who finish second in their round-robin group will play in a Division 2 progressive knockout, and the finalists of this draw will also qualify for the Top 8.
- Players who finish third or fourth will play in a Division 3 progressive knockout.
- Number of Matches: Each player is guaranteed a minimum of 4 matches, with a maximum of 6.
