TRANSPORTATION

– Hotel – Venue: the Selected hotel is in walking distance from the playing venue – no transportation required.
– Hotel – Airport: Transportation from the Airport to the hotel and back is the responsibility of the participants.

SCHEDULE (General)

– Thursday 16 July: set up (morning) and practice available in the afternoon.
– Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July: Canadian Senior Championships – 9 am to 8 pm
– Sunday 19 July: conclusion of the Canadian Senior Championships (+ first rounds of Junior Championships) – 9 am to 8 pm

9.1 Singles Events: Each provincial/territorial association will be allowed to enter as many eligible athletes as possible in the singles events.
9.2 Doubles and Mixed Doubles: Each provincial/territorial association will be allowed to enter as many eligible pairs as possible in the double’s events.
9.3 Only entries made by the member provincial/territorial associations will be accepted.
9.4 *TTCAN has the right to limit entries for MS and MD. Entries will be confirmed based on Ratings order

ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY

10.1 To represent a P/T member association, a competitor must be:
10.1.1 A member in good standing of a provincial/territorial association that is in good standing with Table Tennis Canada.
10.1.2 A Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (proof required for new players).
Eligibility will be checked prior to the Draw.
10.1.3 If a player has resided in one or more provinces/territories, the player represents the province/territory for which he/she is listed on the rating list at the entry deadline.
10.1.4 Players who have changed residence in the last 6 months prior to the Championships will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
10.2 A player who does not have a Canadian Rating (i.e., not active or new) may be nominated by her/his P/T member association for the events. TTCAN will decide the status and possible acceptance on a case-by-case basis.

ENTRY PROCESS / DEADLINES

– Registration opens: May 1st, 2026
– P/T association registration deadline: May 31st, 2026
– Entries confirmed on TTCAN website: June 10th, 2026
– The Entry Form and entry process will be announced and posted on the TTCAN website.
– The Entry Form will be sent to P/T associations by e-mail.

DRAW FORMAT and SEEDING

12.1 The Draw Format will depend on the number of entries received. Future Bulletins will provide more detailed information.
12.2 The Competition Manager reserves the right to cancel an event due to insufficient entries (minimum 4 players to hold the event).
12.3 For Singles: provided there are sufficient entries, the format will be based on qualification groups followed by “limited” progressive knockout to determine, in order, positions needed for the national team selections.
12.4 The Competition Manager reserves the right to modify a format of play at his/her discretion for the best interest of the competition.
12.5 The online draw will take place via Zoom at a date to be announced by TTCAN’s Technical Director in due time. An invitation with a link for the draw meeting will be sent to all participants and published on the TTCAN website (www.ttcanada.ca). More detailed information will follow in future Bulletins.
12.6 SEEDING BY RATING:
12.6.1 The latest available rating list prior to the draw date, shall be used to determine the seeding order for all events wherever possible.
12.6.2 Singles:
• In case that seeded players are placed directly in the Knockout Draw, the number of such seeded players will depend on the total entry and the number of qualification groups. Groups will be composed of 3 players, and in some cases 4 players if necessary.
• For Final Stage rounds (32 entry Knockout Draws or less), the draw will follow the latest ITTF rules as per seeding placement:
Step 1: direct placement for Seeding numbers 1 & 2 in the opposite ends of the Main Draw.
Step 2: Seeding numbers 3 & 4 will be drawn next.
Step 3: Seeding numbers 5 to 8 will be drawn next.
Step 4: Seeding numbers 9 to 16 will be drawn next.
Step 5: Seeding numbers 17 to 32 will be drawn next.
Note 1: If there are more qualifiers coming out of the Round Robin Stage than the allocated spots available in the Main Draw, preliminary knockout rounds will take place to qualify the exact number of athletes needed to form a complete Main Draw.
Note 2: Players from the same provincial/territorial association shall not meet in preliminary groups RR whenever possible.
Note 3: There will be no separation by association in the knockouts.

JURY MEETING

– July 16th, 2026 @ 7:30pm EDT. Place: TBD in the “Information Bulletin”.

AWARDS

15.1 The Marg Walden Trophy will be awarded to the overall best performing Provincial/Territorial association. The Point System Table will be published in future editions of the Bulletin.
15.2 A Fair Play Award will be awarded to a player who demonstrates the most “fair play” behavior and sportsmanship. The umpires will nominate players to the Referees and Competition Manager for final selection.
15.3 Medals will be presented at the Canadian Championships as follows:
• ALL singles and doubles events to the Winner (Gold), Runner-Up (Silver) and both losing semi-finalists (BRONZE x 2)
• ALL doubles events to the Winners (Gold), Runner-Up (Silver) and both losing semi-finalists (BRONZE x 2)
15.4 All Medal Ceremonies will take place in the gym on the day of the respective Final.
Each competitor receiving a medal must be in the gym in sports clothes to receive their medal.

ENTRY FEES

  • Singles: $150 per singles event
  • Doubles: $75 per Player (=$150 per pair) per event
  • All entry fees include Rating and administrative fees.
  • The Entry Form will be made available to the provincial/territorial association with information provided through e-mail and posted on TTCAN’s website.

REGULATIONS

All TTCAN and ITTF regulations will be followed where applicable. The Tournament Referee and the TTCAN Technical Director will apply and interpret the rules in case of any doubts.
