Nova Open Highlights: A Thrilling Prelude

The momentum for the WTT Contender was fueled by the Nova Open, which served as the official warm-up event. The Open featured a spectacular display of high-level play, culminating in a historic final.

Young Puerto Rican sensation Enrique Rios stunned the crowd by defeating Canada’s top player, Eugene Zhen Wang, in a thrilling five-set battle (10-12, 12-10, 8-11, 11-9, 6-11). Carrying that momentum into this week’s WTT event, Rios remarked:

“I believe that I can win also WTT event, I am first favorite. I practiced in Japan and Europe recently.”

Nova Open Final Standings:

1. Enrique Rios (PUR)
2. Eugene Zhen Wang (CAN)
3. Leon Vlasov (CAN)
4. Jordan Grewal (CAN)
