The OTTA is pleased to open registration for two critical National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) development streams running this summer:

Available Courses & Schedules

1. Introduction to Competition

  • Dates: July 13–17, 2026
  • Format: Online evening sessions from 19:00 to 21:00 daily. Followed by a separate, one-day practical evaluation (exact evaluation dates will be coordinated and announced directly during the online course).
  • Focus: Registration Open for Summer NCCP Coaching Courses
  • HPC Requirement: Starting next season, all recognized HPCs must have at least one coach who has completed this specific evaluation.

2. Competition Development

  • Dates: August 3–7, 2026
  • Focus: Designed for advanced coaches focusing on high-performance athletes, seasonal planning, advanced performance analysis, and psychological preparation for national and international competition.
  • Canada Winter Games Requirement: This course is a vital step toward attaining full Competition Development Certified status, which is strictly required for coaches selected to lead provincial squads at the upcoming Canada Winter Games.

Course Fees & Funding Opportunities

  • Course Fee: $500 per course.
  • Coach Financial Support: Coaches participating in these courses are eligible to apply for financial assistance through the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) Coach Bursary Program. This program offers up to $300 per individual to help offset out-of-pocket course registration and evaluation fees.

⚠️ Important Reimbursement & Approval Details: Please be aware that the CAO funding model operates on a reimbursement basis. Coaches must pay for the course upfront and can only officially apply for the bursary support after the course has been fully completed. Additionally, the approval, distribution, and allocation of funding are entirely at the sole discretion of the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO). The OTTA has no role or influence over individual application decisions or bursary disbursements.
