UPDATES:
September 20th updates
September 20, 2023
Major adjustments:
- Instead of prorated women’s/girls’ ranking and gender adjustment, women’s/girls’ ranking points have been calculated differently.
- The ranking of women/girls has been lowered by reducing their level points, and consequently their points, by two levels.
- At events in which both genders participated, all criteria remained unchanged. By implementing these changes:
- Women/Girls are awarded fewer points for only female events (thus, prorated rankings and gender-adjusted point adjustments are no longer required).
- Their points remained the same for both genders events (they can earn same points for same final standings as men/boys at the both gender tournaments).
Corrections:
- Ontario Selection Tournament for TTCAN Target Group (April 2023 in CCTTA) has been incorrectly awarded points for Canadian selection tournaments. This has resulted in increased ranking for all participants (both points and level points). This error has been rectified.
Other adjustments:
- For the WRL’s final points contribution, only the highest level and points from all age categories are awarded, as opposed to the total number of points.
Tournaments added:
- WRL week 36
Tournaments removed:
- Ontario BATT Challenge September 2022
- Ontario GTTA Challenge September 2022
August 14th updates
August 14, 2023
The OTT would like to maintain a balance between only age and only gender events and events where both genders can register (regardless of whether the event is open or age restricted). To ensure fair seeding for these events, the OTT will also publish a “All” ranking list. This roster will not be point-based. The “All” list is generated using a formula in which only the player rankings for each gender are considered:
A * (m/f) * 1.5
Where
– A is ranking of female athlete at F ranking
– f is total number of female athletes at ON ranking list
– m is total number of male athlete at ON ranking list
Examples
– There are currently 99 female athletes on the Ontario classification roster, but 443 male athletes.
Example 1: No. 1 female athlete
No. 1 female athlete’s relative ranking will be calculated using the formula 1 (F ranking) * (443/99) * 1.5 (gender factor) = 6.71
It implies that no 1 F athlete will be positioned between the 6th and 7th M athlete on the “All” classification list if there is no more F athletes in first 6 on the “All” classification list.
Given that there are 4 male and 3 female athletes on the “All” ranking list, she is 4th at “All” ranking list
Example 2: No. 6 female athletes
Formula: 6 (F ranking) *(443/99) * 1.5 (gender factor) = 40.27
It means that no 6 F-ranked athlete will be placed between the 40th and 41st M-ranked athlete.
Given that there are 25 male competitors and 5 female athletes, she will be ranked 31rd on the “All” list.
Example 3: No. 45 female athletes
45 (F ranking) * (443/99) * 1.5 (gender factor) = 302.04
It indicates that no 45 F-ranked athlete will be placed between the 302nd and 303rd M-ranked athletes.
Considering that there are 241 male competitors and 44 female athletes, she is ranked 286th on the “All” list.

What has changed?
- U9 is a new age ranked group
- Age categories + Levels have been replaced with 18 levels across all age categories. At the same time, each age category has a minimum level for Elite, International, Continental, National, Provincial, and two Aspiring divisions. These levels serve as standards for trainers using the LTAD paradigm, as well as recognition for Ontario High Performance Centers. Check ONTARIO RANKING LIST TABLE POINTS last two pages.
- Table points have been modified. Please check ONTARIO RANKING LIST TABLE POINTS for further information.
- House Leagues levels are determined by a minimum of 10 or 5 wins (depending on the overall number of matches).
