The entry lists for all event categories have now been published (Entry List Singles, Entry LIst Doubles).

Singles Events

The maximum number of entries in each Singles age category is 18 players.

The entry lists were prepared using the following criteria:

  • Athletes were entered into their respective age categories first.
  • Any remaining available spots were filled based on the June Ontario Rating List (ORL), with higher-rated players receiving priority.

Competition Format-Singles

Each Singles age category will be played as:

  • 6 round-robin groups of 3 players
  • The 1st-place player from each group will compete for positions 1–6.
  • The 2nd-place player from each group will compete for positions 7–12.
  • The 3rd-place player from each group will compete for positions 13–18.

This format guarantees 4–5 singles matches for every player in each age category.

Some players are eligible to compete in two or even three Singles events, which could result in 12–15 singles matches over the three-day competition.

Please discuss your schedule with your coach and determine whether competing in all eligible events is the best option for you. If you prefer to withdraw from one or more Singles events, please notify the organizer by email at otta@ontariotabletennis.com no later than July 15.

Competition Format-Doubles and Mixed Doubles

Players can enter only one double and one mixed double event.

The Doubles events will be played using the following formats:

  • Mixed Doubles (XD): Knockout format, with matches played to determine 3rd place.
  • U18 Girls Doubles (U18GD), U15 Girls Doubles (U15GD), and U13 Boys Doubles (U13BD): Round-robin format with groups of 4 pairs.
  • U13 Girls Doubles (U13GD): Round-robin format with groups of 3 pairs.
  • U18 Boys Doubles (U18BD) and U15 Boys Doubles (U15BD): Progressive knockout format.

Mixed Doubles Partnerships

There is still an opportunity to create additional Mixed Doubles partnerships. Currently, there are enough unpaired players to form up to seven additional XD pairs (equal to the number of girls without partners).

If two unpaired Mixed Doubles (XD) players agree to form a partnership, they must notify the organizer by email at otta@ontariotabletennis.com no later than July 15.

Coaching

Coaches who are not included on their district’s official coaches/managers residence list may still coach during the competition.

To receive accreditation, they must:

  • have completed the Safe Sport training through coach.ca, and
  • obtain an event coaching pass issued by the OTTA.

Coaches requiring an event coaching pass must inform the organizer by email at otta@ontariotabletennis.com no later than July 20.

Thank you for your cooperation and preparation. We look forward to welcoming all athletes, coaches, and supporters to the Ontario Summer Games and wish everyone the best of luck!
