The Ontario Table Tennis Association (OTTA) is proud to announce that Team Ontario has once again been recognized as the top-performing province in Canada, winning both of Table Tennis Canada’s prestigious provincial team awards at the 2026 Canadian Championships.

Ontario captured:

  • The Marc Walden Trophy – awarded to the province with the best overall performance at the Senior Canadian Championships.
  • The Jacques Bobet Trophy – awarded to the province with the best overall performance at the Junior Canadian Championships.

These awards recognize the collective performance of each province across all championship events and reflect the depth of a provincial program rather than the achievements of individual athletes alone.

A Tradition of Excellence

Ontario’s success at the 2026 Canadian Championships continues a trend established over recent years, with Team Ontario consistently finishing as Canada’s strongest provincial team in both the senior and junior divisions.

What makes this year’s achievement especially significant is the larger margin of victory. The increased point difference reflects the growing depth of Ontario’s athlete development system, with athletes contributing valuable points across virtually every age group and event.

The results demonstrate the strength of Ontario’s long-term athlete development pathway and the dedication of clubs, coaches, officials, tournament organizers, volunteers and families throughout the province.
