The OTTA Board is pleased to announce that Nicole Cai, member of the GTTC Academy, currently attending Western University, is the recipient of the 2022 Champlain Scholarship. Six candidates applied and it was a difficult task to select only one. Considering that in 2019 recipient was male (Robert Cloutier, Para TT athlete from Ottawa), 2020 female (Joyce Xu, Toronto), and in 2021 male (Terence Yeung, Toronto) in 2022 advantage has been given to a female candidate.

For the next year, my plans are to continue to train/play table tennis at Western University and compete in my University region. I want to continue my passion for this sport at a university level. As well, I hope to compete at provincial and national tournaments during my spare time.
This past year, I have very much enjoyed coaching young players from my club (GTTC Academy) at tournaments, such as the past Canadian Championships 2022. As a result, for the upcoming year, I wish to learn and obtain my coaching license to help/coach the young players at my home club in tournaments.
In 2021 Scholarship was awarded to Terence Yeung, member of the My Table Tennis Club, attending Western University.
2020 Scholarship was awarded to Joyce Xu, member of the My Table Tennis Club Markham, attending University of Western Ontario at the time.
2019 Scholarship was awarded to Robert Cloutier, member of the Ottawa Para Table Tennis Club, attending Carleton University at the time.
