Mo Zhang Returns to Ontario, Joins True North Table Tennis Club

Canadian table tennis star Mo Zhang is back in Ontario! After making a name for herself in Ottawa in the early 2010s, where she trained at the National Team Center and won gold at the 2011 Pan Am Games, Mo has returned to the province, this time settling in Toronto.

Zhang, who first came to Canada as a teenager and lived in Vancouver, B.C., is now a member of the True North Table Tennis Club, where she will be both practicing and coaching. Currently ranked No. 1 in Canada and an impressive 46th in the world, Mo continues to compete at the highest level.

Fresh off a strong performance at the 2024 China Smash tournament in Beijing, Mo is ready for new challenges. She started the tournament with a decisive victory over Korea’s Zion Lee, but ultimately fell to Brazil’s Bruna Takahashi in the Round of 32.

With her impressive track record and wealth of experience, including representing Canada at five Olympic Games, Mo Zhang is a valuable addition to the Ontario table tennis scene. Keep an eye out for her as she continues to make her mark on the sport!
