Ontario Table Tennis is thrilled to share some fantastic news about the vibrant activity and growth within our table tennis community. The summer has been a busy and successful period for our athletes and clubs, and we’re excited to see this momentum continue.

Our provincial athletes showcased their skills with a successful showing at the 2025 Canadian Championships. Following this, Ontario has had the privilege of hosting the 2025 WTT Youth Contender Mississauga, marking the first international event of its kind in Canada since 2019. This is a tremendous step forward for our sport, providing our young players with a world-class platform to compete and gain valuable experience on home soil.

Beyond the competitive arena, our community has responded with enthusiasm and growth. We are proud to welcome new affiliated clubs who are opening their doors to new members and expanding the reach of table tennis across the province. We are particularly excited to see this growth is not just concentrated in the Toronto area, but also extends to Ottawa and Waterloo.

It is especially exciting to see that some of the most prominent figures in Canadian table tennis are leading these new ventures. Mo Zhang, the current World Ranking #50, a former Pan Am Games champion, and by far the best female table tennis athlete in Canada for the last two decades, is preparing for the next phase of her career by opening a new table tennis enterprise, More Fun Table Tennis Club. In a similar way, James Lu, a former Ontario Provincial Coach, and Paulo Chira, a former junior National Team player, have already established fully operational clubs in Waterloo (Showtime) and Ottawa (Champlain), respectively.
