Ontario Winter Cup 2023
Due to the altered scheduling of Ontario events in 2020, 2021, and 2022 as a result of Covid restrictions, the March or April occurrence of Ontario Championships events has “lost its rhythm.” Therefore, in 2020 there were none, and in 2021 it was organized in October.
Beginning in 2022, the OTTA will host the Ontario Championships for seniors and juniors in the fall, preferably in October. For U13, U15, and U19, this will occur every April.
However, this means that there will be no U13, U15, or U19 Championships in 2022. OTTA has received several requests to host events. The 2022 Ontario Championships for certain categories will be held during the 2023 Ontario Winter Cup, per a compromise arrangement. It means that players born in 2009, 2007, and 2003 are eligible to compete for provincial championships in 2022, despite the fact that we will be one week into 2023.
