U13 Boys Crowned National Champions
Ontario’s U13 Boys Team put on a masterclass performance to capture the national gold medal in convincing fashion.
Coached by Yecan Yang (Oakville CTTA), the championship lineup included Daniel Liang (Three 10), Kevin Yang (Oakville CTTA), Lucas Chen (True North), and Alvin Sun (Qi Hang PP).
After shutting out Quebec 3-0 in the semifinals, Ontario faced British Columbia in the championship final. Daniel Liang led the way with two clutch singles wins, while pairing up with Kevin Yang to secure a key 3-1 doubles victory. Ontario completed a 3-1 win to claim the U13 National title.
U15 Boys Earn Bronze in Thrilling Tiebreaker
In the U15 Boys’ event, Ontario showed great grit to claim the national bronze medal after a grueling knockout stage.
Coached by Hongtao Chen (True North), the team consisted of Clark Cui (True North), Denis Yang (Three 10), Malcolm Jinqian Xiong (True North), and Kenny Fengjia Zhang (Oakville CTTA).
Following a narrow 3-2 defeat against Quebec in the semifinals, Ontario regrouped for a dramatic third-place match against Alberta. With the tie knotted at 2-2, Clark Cui delivered under pressure, sweeping his final singles match 3-0 to secure the 3-2 victory and the bronze medal for Team Ontario.
U19 Boys Capture National Bronze
Ontario’s U19 Boys squad capped off their team campaign by securing the bronze medal following a hard-fought playoff run.
Coached by Eugene Wang (True North), the squad featured Suhaan Gulati (Grace Academy), Lucas Zhang (True North), Hongze Shan (True North), and Adrian Florin Girbea (Three 10).
After falling 3-1 to Alberta in a tight semifinal battle, Team Ontario bounced back strong in the third-place match against Quebec. Suhaan Gulati set the pace with two dominant singles victories, while the doubles pairing of Hongze Shan and Adrian Florin Girbea earned a crucial 3-1 win to seal a decisive 3-1 victory for Ontario.
